Connect an AI assistant

Let Claude or another AI assistant answer questions about your club, read-only.

Connect Claude, or another AI assistant that supports MCP, to your club and ask about it in plain words: who hasn’t been in for a month, how full Monday’s class is, how many adults checked in last week. The assistant can read your members, groups, classes, bookings and check-ins. It can’t change anything or message anyone.

Create a key

  1. Open AI assistants

Go to SettingsSettings and scroll to AI assistants (MCP).
  2. Name the key and create it

Give it a name you’ll recognize later, like “Front desk laptop”, and click Create key.
  3. Copy it right away

The key is shown once, with the setup filled in for Claude Code and for apps that take a JSON config. Copy what you need before you click Done.

Claude Code

Paste the command from the settings page into a terminal. It looks like this:

claude mcp add --transport http fencing-office https://fencingoffice.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer fo_live_…"

Other apps

Apps that take an MCP server URL and headers use https://fencingoffice.com/api/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer and your key. The JSON config on the settings page works for most of them.

What the assistant can see

  • Members’ names, emails, groups, membership status, last check-in, USA Fencing ID, waiver status and family links.
  • Groups, classes and their sessions, who’s booked in, and who checked in.
  • Check-in history.

It never sees phone numbers, birthdays, addresses, payment details or your custom member fields.
